the big kahuna

our new living room furniture is here! it came in last week & dave & my brother mike went to pick it up on sunday morning. we got a couch & loveseat along with a coffee table & end table, all from bob's.
here's a few shots of the new set-up...puppy was a little unsure at first but he seems to have adjusted ok.another room done! and yay for being grown-ups!

earth hour

don't forget tomorrow night is Earth Hour!
at 8:30pm local time on saturday march 27th hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to call for action on climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. more fun with finn

both inside & out these boys have quite alot of fun together. they both LOVE tennis balls. i mean LOVE.foster's dog bed was quite a popular spotbuddies (yes foster is drooling)thanks for a fun visit finnegan!! come again anytime!

we're back...and with a friend!

yeah yeah yeah, we've been gone for too long. i'm glad so many of you enjoy the blog & miss it when it's on hiatus.
anyhoo, foster the puppy has had a pretty fun week as far as dog's go. last weekend the weather was simply beautiful! 70 degrees on saturday with plenty of sunshine. almost makes us forget about the 10 inches of rain we got the weekend before (which severly screwed up my commuting last week!). on top of good weather he had a friend visiting too! finn the german shorthaired pointer has been here since last thursday. finn belongs to one of dave's co-workers so he & puppy have enjoyed many fun times together already.
they have frolicked & played pretty much nonstop since last thursday. some fetch in the backyard with daddy at duski think foster likes having a buddy to hang out with. don't go getting any ideas DH! this house is not big enough for another dog!

i got nuthin'

not much going on in these parts lately. home improvements continue. we bought a new living room set. once we pick it up & have it set up i'll share pics. i've been working on reorganizing closet space (thrilling) & we're still working out the layout of the office/guestroom. i've started reading up on gardening for the upcoming season! making plans for a fun crop once the ground thaws. not to mention big landscaping plans! i'm getting a hydrangea & a couple peonies this spring whether DH helps me or not!
it rained here ALL weekend. a true spring noreaster. 40mph winds, driving rain & temps in the 40's. unfortunately we're just not as tough as we used to be & we decided to skip our annual st. patty's day road race rather than run in that crap. catie & steve are WAY tougher than us & still carried on the tradition. good job guys!
all rain and no fun makes brown puppies a bit stir crazy. one big raw hide bone has improved things somewhat. however nothing fun to report in puppy world these days. we're all anxiously awaiting spring & more daylight! hopefully this week will deliver & there will be more blogging to come!

big bear meets little bear

last week my good friend marisa came up to visit for the day with her baby girl norah. you've seen her here before. well norah bear is growing up fast these days! she's about 16 months now!
according to her mommy the little bear is a big lover of dogs. i don't think she had met a big brown bear like foster before so i was a bit nervous about the exchange. things were a bit tenuous at first when foster thought it was ok to take some food out of norah's hand. there were some tears but she rebounded quickly and before you knew they were the best of friends....marisa was also happy to see the pup foster was such a sweet boy.he graciously accepted all the love & cuddles and wasn't over excited or rough in any way. such a sweet boy!

puppy-sitting

a few weekends ago fern came over for a visit while her parents were at a wedding out of state. it's always fun to have fern visit because foster is reminded of how tiring it can be being a puppy. she just goes goes goes and foster gets all tuckered out and wants to rest! he was quite fond of her doggie bed. he laid in it all weekend!of course there was plenty of playtime too!ahh the life of a puppy!
